Experience
During Philip’s professional career, he has been exposed to a broad cross section of industries, including mining, education, manufacturing, professional services, local government, healthcare and mutual interest organisations.
In addition to the traditional audit roles, Philip has been involved in the preparation of investigating accountants reports for prospectuses, due diligence reviews for acquisitions and public listings, valuations, litigation support and general advisory services in the public and private sector.
Over 20 years with this firm has given Philip the chance to contribute to the success of many South Australian organisations in a variety of areas.
Philip provides Audit and Assurance services to private and public companies, local government, private hospitals, private schools and colleges, and mutual interest organisations.
Philip undertakes independent Accountant’s Reports for capital raisings, and due diligence investigations. Philip’s experience gives him the opportunity to provide expert opinions and litigation support services.
Philip is a firm believer in business planning and he has a passion for information systems and training. Philip’s most satisfying work involves helping people understand the business they operate or manage.

Sector experience
Philip Paterson joined a “Big 4” chartered accounting firm in January 1976. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and moved to Grant Thornton in South Australia. Philip has been a Director since 1984 and was Managing Partner of the Adelaide practice from 1997 until 2007.
