Experience
Ian has developed an expertise in working with both the government and the private sector in regard to taxation, accounting and more recently business consulting and strategic planning.
Ian began his career in 1993 at Johnston Rorke after which he moved to Ernst & Young as a manager in the Entrepreneurial Services Division, where he assisted emerging and medium sized businesses.
In November 1998 he accepted a contract to work in the Solomon Islands for an associate firm of Ernst & Young named Goh & Partners.
In the Solomon Islands he held the position of senior manager in Audit and Corporate Services and was the key liaison on engagements between Ernst and Young Australia and the Solomon Islands. After his contract expired Ian moved back to Australia to take up a position at Grant Thornton, as a senior manager, and now director, in the Business Advisory Services Division.
With this specialist focus on business planning and strategic growth, Ian has worked with clients in establishing strategic plans for client businesses and has acted as mentor and coach to a number of his clients.
