Experience

Simon joined Grant Thornton in 1989. His career achievements have been considerable and include over a year in Grant Thornton’s London office where he was responsible for implementing and training staff throughout Europe on a new audit approach and software package. Having returned to Australia he continues this training and implementation role throughout the Asia pacific region.

Simon’s experience in audit includes:

Statutory audits of large private and public companies, associations, and superannuation funds.

Special purpose audits and financial investigations.

Systems evaluations.

Special assignments relating to documentation of work practices and procedures.

The audit requirements for organisations can be quite unique. Simon Hancox is one of Grant Thornton’s most experienced auditors and his familiarity with various industry sectors means that he is able to identify any particular weaknesses or irregularities in the control systems for a wide variety of organisations.

Simon is a member of the Information Systems Audit Control Association. He has also been appointed to the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board task force on External Confirmations.
