Craig McCormick

Experience
Craig is an experienced accountant and tax consulting professional specialising in working with large international businesses, listed groups and large privately held businesses.
He also leads Grant Thornton's national research and development tax specialist team. In this role he works with clients involved in innovation and assists in securing R&D tax concessions, other innovation related government incentives and management of IP.
Craig's past experience includes working with the project and structured finance division of ANZ Investment Bank as an in-house tax advisor, Rio Tinto as a contracted tax manager and various tax and accounting roles with the ANZ Banking Group and two of the big 4 accounting firms.
Drawing on his tax and financial management experience, Craig has also acted in interim/contracted CFO roles for a variety of private and public companies. Most notably, Craig has worked in the interim CFO role for Harrington Technologies Limited (a subsidiary of the Harrington Group Ltd ASX code: HGR) and New Frugalitas Fund Limited (a licensed Pooled Development Fund).
Having worked in and managed in-house finance functions, Craig has an intimate understanding of complex organisations. In particular he is experienced in working with diverse internal stakeholder groups, multidiscipline and cross jurisdictional teams. He draws on this in-house experience to assist clients design, implement and assess tax management systems, reporting and functions.
Craig also holds two key internal roles at Grant Thornton. He is a member of the firm’s Risk Management Advisory Committee and chairs the Corporate Tax Risk Management centre of expertise.
