Experience

David has more than 38 years of experience in the delivery of external audit services across the corporate and private sector. David’s primary role now as an engagement director on many of Grant Thornton’s significant external audit engagements following a long and successful period as the head of the Melbourne Assurance group.

David also has a broad range of assurance services skills and experience and enjoys using those skills to help keep the firm’s services relevant and to assist clients meet the demands of today’s vibrant and evolving business environment. In that regard David is qualified in a number of aligned areas to his external audit role are notable in that he is also a Certified Internal Auditor and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

David’s work in internal audit has revolved around the initial establishment of the Melbourne internal audit service offering and including work in Enterprise Risk Management and with US based clients assisting them meet their Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements.

David’s qualifications and knowledge of Capital Markets is very valuable on his assurance assignments for emerging ASX listed entities and in the areas of due diligence assignments and private equity investment.
