Experience

Ian is currently the Managing Director of Grant Thornton, Victoria. He has over 21 years experience in professional services providing advisory services to public companies, large private organisations and government entities. He commenced his career with Andersen in 1987 as a graduate, worked in various service lines and industries as he progressed through the ranks to Partner. While at Andersen, Ian held a number of leadership positions including the Australian Lead Partner BPO, Global Methodology Committee Member & Training Development Partner for BPO within the firm.

Ian has worked across the accounting practice in a number of services lines including Business Process Outsourcing, Business Consulting and Assurance, giving him a diverse professional services background. Ian joined Grant Thornton in 2002 and has led the growth and development of the Grant Thornton Business Process Solutions (BPS) practice. He has over 80 people specialising in assessing the efficiencies and risk, designing, implementing and operating back-office business processes within organisations. Ian was appointed Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Melbourne in 1 July 2007.
