Experience

Ian has been with Grant Thornton for over 35 years and has been a partner of the firm since 1978, and was Managing Partner of the Melbourne practice for over 12 years.

Ian has acted as a business advisor to many significant families in Melbourne in many capacities from commercial business advice, business and complex tax restructuring, strategic planning and investment, taxation planning, asset protection and succession planning. 

With a strong financial background and a genuine desire to assist clients to grow their business and family wealth and deal with generational change, Ian develops a strong and long lasting relationship with his clients’ which is mutually beneficial to both parties.

In addition to his broad commercial experience, Ian has a deep understanding of issues that arise in growing and building businesses, developed through his own experience in building a national accounting practice over the last thirty years.
