Experience
Michael completed a Bachelor of Business and Computing double degree at Monash University – majoring in Accounting and Information Systems. During his first few years at Grant Thornton, in addition to achieving his Chartered Accountancy qualification, Michael undertook a secondment to Grant Thornton’s UK member firm. The secondment exposed him to a different lifestyle and professional environment with new technical issues and challenges.

These were all experiences that Michael has been able to use to benefit the Melbourne practice and his clients. Michael is the leader of Grant Thornton Australia’s Life Sciences Team and is responsible for the provision of statutory audit, due diligence and advisory services to his clients, which include listed public companies, foreign subsidiaries, entrepreneurial owner managed businesses, and not for profit organisations.

Passionate about developing the junior members of his team, Michael is a facilitator of the Financial Reporting and Audit & Assurance modules in the ICAA CA Program. Whether coaching a younger member of his team or helping one of his clients with the day-to-day running of their business, Michael is in there with his sleeves rolled up.
