Chris joined Grant Thornton in February 2008 to lead the Australian transfer pricing practice, bringing with him over 20 years of international tax experience in PwC at partner level, and 2 years in the ATO at executive level. Chris gained his grounding in international tax in PwC Poland, based as lead tax partner in Warsaw, and in PwC Europe, based in Amsterdam as a client liaison partner and transfer pricing expert. Chris returned to Australia in 2001 and was approached by the ATO to assist them to build capacity in the transfer pricing practice. He was appointed a designated competent authority under the double tax treaty program and presented training to the audit case offices. On leaving the ATO in 2005 Chris undertook a national level director role in a 2nd tier Chartered Accounting firm. He moved to Grant Thornton in 2008, attracted by their commitment to building transfer pricing advisory services at a global level.
Sector Experience
Transfer Pricing tax consulting involves client discussion, benchmarking analysis, and defending a pricing position to tax authorities via the preparation of transfer pricing documentation reports or APA submissions. Chris has prepared over 100 reports for international businesses operating in and out of Australia including reports for companies listed on the NYSE and ASX , through to large SME private groups.

Authored the Guide issued by the ATO covering Simplification of Transfer Pricing for SMEs and presented to the Taxation Institute of Australia 22nd National Convention (2007).
