Students and Graduates, 2008/09

Co-op Program and Summer Vacation work

Co-op and summer vacation applications for 2008/09 are now closed.

At Grant Thornton, our co-op and vacation programs are designed to give you the opportunity to kick-start your accounting career and experience first hand who we are and what we do. Upon successful completion of the co-op or vacation program, you may be offered a graduate position following the completion of your degree.

Cadetship Recruitment

A traineeship at Grant Thornton offers you the opportunity to gain practical experience whilst studying your degree at university. We develop our trainees to have business acumen, personal skills as well as a structured career path.

We seek students in Year 12 who expect to successfully complete their secondary studies before undertaking a relevant business focused degree with an accounting major. We look for students with a strong academic record, developed interpersonal skills, wide outside interests and ideally some relevant work experience.

Most states offer their trainees the option of accelerating their degree. You work full-time with the firm and study part-time for the first year. For the subsequent two years you study full-time in the first semester of each year and work full-time and study part-time for the remainder of the year. You receive financial assistance whilst studying full-time to assist in covering the costs of your study and alleviate the need for a part-time job.
