New preventative measures to support our people and clients

Today we released the following update to our clients about the new measures we are taking to protect our people and clients in light of new information from the World Health Organisation about the spread of COVID-19.

At Grant Thornton, we care; for our people and clients.

It’s our responsibility to keep our people safe and healthy and in doing so we can best support you.

We’ve been closely monitoring advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Australian Department of Health in respect to appropriate responses to the coronavirus (COVID-19). While they’re yet to ask all Australians to self-isolate, as an extra precaution we’ve today made the decision to expand our current flexible working arrangements to encourage our people to prioritise working from home.

We’re well set-up to do so. Our established ways of working and technology already enable our people to service clients in a range of agile ways while maintaining the quality of service we’re proud to provide you. So while the way we support you will change a little behind the scenes, the level and quality of support you receive will remain unchanged.

Our people are at the forefront of our minds and so are you, so to minimise the risk of exposure to both our people and clients, we’ve decided to cancel all Grant Thornton office-based seminars and functions. When it makes sense to do so, we’ll move events from face-to-face to virtual and will utilise our proven webinar technology. That way, we’ll ensure you receive the same detailed insights, but without the risk of exposure. However, face to face interaction will continue with mutual agreement, at either your premises or ours.

We’re told that the challenges of this virus mean we need to think and act differently. We’re comfortable this is the right decision. And with your support we believe this will minimise the potential for disruption down the track when we’re told, things might get worse.

Rest assured, we’ll be with you whenever you need us and as always, we’re well equipped to help you navigate these challenging times.

Please take care,

Greg
