Partner - Audit & Assurance
Director - International Business Centre

Matt is an experienced audit partner and business leader, with a track record of delivering high quality service to his clients, whilst driving high performance and growth within our firm, throughout over 32 years with Grant Thornton in both London and Sydney, including the last 24 as a partner.

From 2009 – 2018 Matt held various business unit leader roles and was a member of the firm’s senior leadership team. As such, Matt was involved in driving culture change, developing go to market strategies, implementing client experience programs, negotiation of mergers and then leading subsequent integration, as well as being accountable for all aspects of day to day operations for business units up to $75m turnover.

After a decade in senior leadership roles, Matt has now moved back to a full-time client-facing role, acting as lead audit partner for some of the firm’s largest and most complex audit clients (mainly in the financial services and professional services industries), responsible for delivering high quality audits, as well as helping our international business clients in his role as International Business Centre (IBC) Director. In this IBC role, Matt is responsible for the development and efficient service delivery for global clients, working with his counterparts across the 30 most important global trade countries and also our International Liaison Directors in another 70+ countries.
