Our Corporate Finance team works with clients through all stages of a transaction or investment, ensuring key decision makers have the right information to make informed decisions and maximise value.

Joining our Corporate Finance team could see you work across all aspects of corporate finance, including:

  • Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions  – on both buy and sell side, private equity transactions, cross-border transactions, debt refinancing, ASX/AIM listings and capital raisings
  • Due diligence – investigative accountant reports on securities exchange listings (IPOs), financial and taxation due diligence, bid analysis and post-transaction support
  • Valuations – independent valuations and expert reports, purchase price allocations, disputes and litigation support and tax consolidation
  • Financial modelling – financial model construction and review, project analysis, feasibility and financing

Restructuring Advisory

Some organisations are so well established, it seems like they could never go out of business. But a failure to innovate, poor internal controls, a change in customer demands or external market conditions can rapidly cause a business to enter into financial distress or fail completely.

Formulating and executing a business restructure or turnaround strategy can be challenging for management. Our Restructuring Advisory team works closely with business owners, managers and lenders to identify and resolve issues affecting profitability, protect enterprise value and recover value. 

We also provide insolvency related services such as voluntary administration appointments and liquidation, where turnaround is not possible.

We work across an incredibly broad range of industries, including:

  • Education
  • Health and aged care

Here, you’ll build an unrivalled foundation in your understanding of business, strategic and financial decisions making, as well as managing risk.
  • Law-based work – The work that our Restructuring Advisory team undertakes is governed by the Corporate Act. You don’t need to have a background in law, but an interest in reading and understanding legal and regulatory frameworks will be help. 
  • Every client and every matter is different – The non-recurrent nature of the matters that our Restructuring Advisory team work on means that you’ll get continuous exposure to interesting and complex client engagements. Our work is mostly referred.

Joining Restructuring Advisory as a graduate or vacationer will see you:

  • preparing financial analysis or forecasting work papers
  • attending a client’s worksite 
  • conducting investigations including review accounting records and supporting documentation
  • drafting reports for clients and/or regulatory bodies
  • liaising with banks, the ATO and key creditors
  • preparing for and attending creditor meetings.

Forensic Consulting

Forensic Consulting

Complex legal proceedings, financial disputes and investigations are increasingly common and can prove a distraction to businesses and their leaders in driving strategy and achieving outcomes. They can also place considerable financial and reputational risk on businesses.

We work with our clients across all aspects of forensic consulting, including:

  • Commercial litigation support – expert accounting evidence for all manner of disputes, including commercial disputes (for example quantification of loss professional negligence matters), family law, insurance claims, class actions and valuations 
  • Investigations – fraud and corruption, theft of assets and cash, employee fraud and misconduct, bribery and corruption, intellectual property and identity theft, expert witness testimony, wage claims (including underpayments) and whistle-blower programs
  • Fraud and asset tracing – identify and trace assets and the flow of funds.

Joining Forensic Consulting as a graduate or vacationer will see you:

  • preparing accounting work papers
  • undertaking client, industry and sector research projects
  • reading and synthesising relevant case law and legislation
  • getting involved in business development activities, networking and professional development seminars
  • working on independent reviews on behalf of the Fair Work Commission or Fair Work Ombudsman.
