Grant Thornton welcomes Financial Advisory Principal, Mark Butterfield

Grant Thornton is pleased to announce the new Principal appointment of Mark Butterfield in the Financial Advisory service line based in the Sydney office.

Mark commenced with the team on 1 April 2023 and brings over 40 years of extensive experience and knowledge in the accounting profession. He has spent the last 34 years specialising in business valuation and forensic accounting, with further knowledge in firm risk management and technical quality.

Throughout his career so far, he has provided opinions to a wide range of organisations across various industries including Government, publicly listed Australian companies and international businesses as well as private clients.

“I am delighted to have joined the Financial Advisory – Corporate Finance team at Grant Thornton and look forward to continuing my career at the firm. I aim to deliver the best results for my clients, and I have confidence I will be supported by some of the best in this industry,” Mark said.

With uncertain times and an increased need for resilience in businesses, it is critical clients can seek advice from credible advisors to ensure business confidence. With his experience across multiple business landscapes, Mark will enhance the Grant Thornton Financial Advisory team.

Mark has also provided expert evidence on valuation opinion in Australian and International courts, with additional experience in lecturing externally for CAANZ, the Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, the Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
