Director – Sustainability Reporting Advisory
Michael enjoys working with people and organisations to support them to understand their climate-change and sustainability risks and opportunities, and how they can be more resilient and improve their financial performance.
With over two decades of international experience in energy supply and climate change, Michael observed a growing acknowledgment among businesses and investors that strong financial performance is intrinsically linked to their relationships with the environment and society. His roles with global mining company Rio Tinto Limited provided direct experience in integrating climate change considerations into business strategy, preparing and implementing climate-related disclosures, setting emission reduction targets, and developing transition plans.
Michael has experience working across all sectors including organisations involved in finance, construction, transport, agriculture, energy and resources and tourism.
Achieving a better balance between financial performance, the environment, and society requires collaboration and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision making. Michael’s approach is grounded in deep stakeholder engagement, bringing together multidisciplinary teams, rigorous analysis, and a commitment to co-designing solutions that stick.
