Grant Thornton congratulates Atlas Engineering Group on its partnership with Pemba-backed Sequana

Grant Thornton is delighted to have acted as lead corporate advisor to Atlas Engineering Group, a leader in brownfield water and wastewater programs regarding its partnership with Sequana, Australia’s preeminent infrastructure water specialists.

Atlas Engineering Group (Atlas) has delivered over $2b in brownfield wastewater programs, and specialises in asset management and optimisation, program and project planning and delivery, and digital solutions with a focus on state and local wastewater program solutions.

Established in 2019, project management business Sequana specialises in large-scale desalination projects and complex water, environmental, and energy projects.

Grant Thornton Partner Tom Williams and his team advised Atlas on the transaction including negotiating terms and supporting the company with the due diligence and documentation phases.

This partnership will expand Sequana’s market capabilities with Atlas’ footprint across New South Wales and Victoria, and bring extensive technical and engineering capabilities to Sequana.

“Grant Thornton is proud to have acted for Atlas on this transaction, and we are pleased to have achieved a successful outcome. The Atlas acquisition will expand Sequana’s already extensive market reach and capability, delivering a comprehensive infrastructure solution to its clients,” stated Tom Williams, Partner at Grant Thornton.

Atlas shareholder Scott Rudram commented “The partnership with Sequana presents new opportunities for our clients and team and we are excited about the future.  Grant Thornton provided us with excellent support during the transaction, ensuring an efficient process that realised our objectives.”

The acquisition is part of Sequana's ambitious growth strategy following Pemba Capital Partners' 2024 investment, which Grant Thornton Partner Cameron Bacon advised the shareholders of Sequana on.
