Grant Thornton announces changes to Board

Grant Thornton Australia today announced changes to its Board with one of its valued Non-Executive Directors Louise McCann retiring from her position as Chair as of 8 August 2025, and Non-Executive Director Andrea Waters formally taking on the role of Chair effective 8 August 2025.

Louise McCann has been a pivotal part of Grant Thornton’s leadership since joining the Board in 2014. Louise is an experienced Chairman and Non-Executive Director of ASX, public, private and not-for-profit organisations with comprehensive commercial experience as a Managing Director, CEO and Senior Executive in the media and communications sectors. Louise has consistently brought her thoughtful perspectives and commitment to the firm’s progressive people policies, CARE values and purpose.

Andrea Waters will formally step into the role of Chair. Andrea has been a part of the Board since 2018 and was Acting Chair during 2022. An experienced Non-Executive Director of ASX, private and not-for-profit organisations, she has an extensive background in finance, governance and audit. Along with her deep understanding of the professional services sector, she provides stability and experience as Grant Thornton enters its next chapter of accelerated expansion. As Chair, Andrea remains committed to upholding the firm’s high standards of quality governance, CARE values and client service, and to supporting the leadership team in delivering on the firm’s strategic priorities.
