Grant Thornton reaches Inclusive Employer status for the third time

Grant Thornton Australia has been named an Inclusive Employer for the third time by the Diversity Council of Australia (DCA)1.

This recognition marks another milestone in the firm’s strong commitment to creating a safe and equitable workplace for their people.

For an organisation to be recognised as an Inclusive Employer, they must exceed the National Index Benchmark across several key diversity and inclusion areas. These include awareness, engagement, inclusive organisational climate, inclusive leadership, inclusive team and frequency of exclusion. The Grant Thornton people participated in the DCA and Diversity Atlas Inclusive Employer Index workplace survey that captures data measuring the equitability of an organisation and its results reached the benchmarks.

Said Jahani, Grant Thornton Australia CEO said, “Being recognised once again by the Diversity Council of Australia as an Inclusive Employer is a proud moment for Grant Thornton Australia. This honour reflects the deep commitment across our firm to creating a workplace where every voice is valued and every individual feels they belong. It’s a testament to the culture we’ve built together – one that celebrates diversity and aims to support inclusion every day.

“I’m especially grateful to the hundreds of people across our firm who took part in the Inclusive Employer Index survey, and to those leading our diversity network groups, as well as our Culture and Race Advisory Group and Reconciliation Action Plan steering committee. Your passion and dedication continue to shape a more inclusive future for our people and our profession,” Jahani continued.

Research by Inclusion@Work report the following benefits from creating a diverse and inclusive workplace:

  • More job satisfaction
  • More positive mental health outcomes
  • More likely to stay in their organisation
  • More likely to have taken on board constructive feedback

The DCA is a not-for-profit organisation focused on fostering diverse workforces through partnerships across Australia. As Australia’s leading independent peak body for diversity and inclusion, DCA has been committed to helping shape more equitable workplaces for the last 40 years.
