Grant Thornton welcomes Matthew Lane as new Partner in Tax

Grant Thornton is delighted to welcome Matthew Lane as a new Corporate Tax Partner based in our Brisbane office. 

Matthew has 20 years of experience in corporate tax advisory, with expertise both in-house and as an external consultant, as well as experience in two Big 4 professional services firms. Matt also has specialist experience in the financial services industry, having previously held leadership positions in the tax and finance teams of a large Australian superannuation fund. 

Matthew possesses extensive expertise in the financial services sector, encompassing superannuation, insurance, funds management, and banking, further enhanced by his comprehensive experience in tax matters related to financing arrangements, thin capitalisation, capital management, global tax compliance, and tax governance reviews for a variety of clients including corporate groups, investment funds, and high-net-worth family offices. 

Additionally, he is adept at providing transactional tax support, including tax due diligence, restructuring, domestic and international tax structuring advice, as well as other M&A advisory services.
