Grant Thornton celebrates three finalists in the Women in Finance Awards 2021

Congratulations to our three finalists in the Women in Finance Awards 2021, Tari Makanda for Mentor of the Year, Caitlin Bennett for Young Leader of the Year and Himashini Weeraratne for Accounting Consultant of the Year.

Tari is from our Sydney Audit & Assurance and specialises in financial Services external and internal audit and risk and compliance engagements within Banking and Asset Management.

Himashini, a partner at Grant Thornton, leads the financial services tax practice as well as the asset management practice at Grant Thornton Australia nationally. She is passionate about growing mid-sized businesses and assisting clients with detailed knowledge of taxation and regulatory issues in the financial services industry. She is a thought leader and regularly presents on topical issues and trends in this space.

Caitlin is from our Adelaide Private Business, Tax and Advisory team. In addition to being a valued advisor to her clients is also actively involved in our LGBTIQ+ and Ally network, PRISM.

Founded in 2017 by Momentum Media, the Women in Finance Awards celebrate and recognise outstanding women in the Australian finance industry. Tari, Caitlin and Himashini are joined by over 250 high-achieving professionals across 28 submission-based categories.

The winners will be announced on 2 September 2021 at a gala ceremony in Sydney.
