New CEO appointed for Grant Thornton effective 1 July 2015

Leading accounting and advisory firm Grant Thornton Australia announces the appointment of Greg Keith as CEO. Greg replaces Robert Quant with effect from 1 July 2015.

Chairman Grant Thornton Australia, Tony Crawford said, “The selection process has been rigorous and in line with best practice corporate governance standards. It’s been driven by the Board with the support of professional advisors. With a new CEO comes renewed impetus and fresh ideas about how to shape our strategy and deliver our next phase of growth.”

Grant Thornton Australia CEO, Robert Quant said, “Greg brings the right balance of professional capability, innovative thinking and leadership to keep our people at the forefront among professional advisors. We are committed to growing our clients and growing our firm. We’ve re-engineered our firm to become growth advisors to mid-sized businesses and we are well set for further sustainable growth in revenue and profitability.”

Greg has over 23 years’ experience with Grant Thornton. A former board member, Greg is currently the Sydney Office Managing Partner. He has previously established a financial advisory practice in China.

Incoming CEO, Greg Keith, said innovation and agility in changing market conditions is the key to success.

“The accounting market is changing and consolidating. We intend to be a driver of change, not a passenger. Our track record of M&A and development of new service offerings demonstrates this.

“The main structural challenges in our industry are centred on commoditisation, globalisation and digitisation. Our response to the rapidly changing landscape will be built around four key pillars: distinctive client service, growth orientation of our people, technology and strength in our global network.”
