Kate leads the national Cyber Resilience practice, helping clients understand and manage cyber risk, prevent incidents and minimise disruption when incidents occur.
Before joining Grant Thornton, Kate spent four and a half years as a Partner at Deloitte, where she led the Enterprise Security practice.
She brings expertise in operational excellence and market development, with a focus on Financial Services and Technology, Media and Telecommunications clients.
Kate spent more than a decade on the NBN Co Security Group Senior Leadership Team. As General Manager, she led specialist teams across cyber security technology, business consulting, risk management, internal and third-party assurance, and privacy programmes. Her industry leadership also includes six years on the Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, including two years as President.
Earlier in her career, Kate held leadership roles at Microsoft and Symantec, following consulting experience with a boutique firm in the UK. This breadth of experience gives her deep cyber and privacy expertise, alongside strong strategic and commercial insight.
Kate has been widely recognised for her industry contribution, including being named Australia’s Most Outstanding Woman in IT Security in 2021 and winning the cyber security award at the B&T Women Leading Tech Awards in 2024.
Kate is also a Non-Executive Director of Project Placed, a not-for-profit organisation that supports workforce re-entry through coaching and training programs.
