Marie is a governance, risk management, and controls specialist with a particular emphasis on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) & Sustainability, and internal audit. She has built over 10 years of professional service experience in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Marie collaborates with organisations to independently evaluate their risk management, control implementation, and governance frameworks. She focuses on improving operational efficiency, strengthening foundations for sustainable success, and helping organisations achieve their objectives.

Her experience spans various sectors including the Australian Federal and State Government, for-purpose entities, education, water, and utilities. Marie is a collaborative leader who actively engages in the work, partnering closely with her team and clients to deliver agreed outcomes while upholding the highest standards of quality.

Experience

• Internal Audit – Developing and executing comprehensive annual audit plans with a risk-based approach to evaluate critical organisational areas, including ESG & Sustainability. Assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures. Leading audits to identify gaps, address ESG-related risks, and highlight areas for improvement. Presenting audit findings and delivering actionable recommendations to senior leadership and audit committees.
• Risk Management Advisory – Assessing and refining risk management frameworks, with a concentrated emphasis on assurance mapping to strengthen oversight and accountability.
