As a technical accounting expert, Owen is passionate about breaking down the complexity of the Australian Accounting Standards in support of Grant Thornton’s clients.
He is responsible for helping Grant Thornton’s clients mitigate their financial reporting risks through the provision of guidance on highly complex accounting matters in conjunction with offering specialists – supporting teams from all of Grant Thornton service pillars. Reflecting his responsibility for the Grant Thornton Australia IFRS team, Owen represents Australia as a member of Grant Thornton’s IFRS Technical Experts Group.
Owen’s experience is varied and includes direct experience in Australia and the United States, including a period where Owen was responsible for the financial reporting of one of the USA’s largest mortgage default services providers. Owen is a Chartered Accountant (Australia) and Certified Public Accountant (USA – licensed in Texas).
Outside of his work assisting with complex accounting issues, Owen volunteers with a youth organisation at a local level with a goal of developing a greater appreciation for sustainability while developing leadership skills in participants.
