Speak now or forever hold your peace on innovation

Don’t struggle for a competitive edge, speak up now!

The Government is listening and it’s up to the mid-size businesses of Australia to highlight the importance of research and development (R&D) incentives to foster growth and innovation across the sector.

A review is set to be conducted into the R&D tax incentive program by the Centre for International Economics. Submissions for opinions from Australian businesses will now be taken.

“We welcome this review to demonstrate the value in preserving innovation incentives for Australian mid-size businesses, which really missed out in this year’s Federal Budget.”

“Technology, life sciences and manufacturers turning over more than $2 million faced a reduction in the R&D tax incentive rate as a result of this year’s Federal Budget. Now is the time to speak up and highlight the value of these much needed incentives”

“We will be working closely with our clients to ensure the voices of mid-sized businesses are heard. We want to see quarterly refunds back on the table and stability in the rate restored so that these businesses can properly plan their innovation programs.”

“This review provides an important opportunity for mid-sized businesses to provide feedback on the value of innovation incentives to remain competitive in a global economy” said Sukvinder Heyer, National Leader R&D Tax, Grant Thornton Australia.
