Bec brings over 15 years of specialist experience advising businesses on Australia’s innovation landscape, with a focus on the R&D Tax Incentive and Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) program. With a background in law and business, she supports clients to access and optimise government incentives that drive innovation and growth. Bec takes a commercial and collaborative approach, working closely with clients to align their R&D activities with funding opportunities and broader growth objectives. She brings a practical, experience-led perspective, supporting businesses to access incentives while strengthening how innovation is identified, governed and embedded, with a focus on clear governance frameworks for R&D claims and appropriate risk management.
Experience
Specialising in a diverse range of R&D tax matters, Bec’s expertise includes:
- Identifying R&D activities and ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory expectations.
- Advising on cross-border R&D considerations and designing and implementing R&D governance frameworks.
- Managing Advance and Overseas Findings applications.
- Supporting clients through ATO and DISR reviews and engagement processes.
Bec also chairs Grant Thornton’s Global Innovation Incentives Group, collaborating with international colleagues to share insights across R&D and innovation regimes globally and brings this perspective into her work with Australian clients. She is passionate about helping businesses invest confidently in innovation and building trusted relationships that support long-term, sustainable outcomes.
