Grant Thornton is delighted to welcome former KPMG audit partner Brent Steedman to lead Perth’s Audit team.
Brent has over 30 years’ experience advising a range of Australian and international listed and private businesses on financial reporting, assurance and advisory services.
With a strong background in the Energy & Resources sector, Brent established and led KPMG’s Oil and Gas Centre of Excellence from 2003 until 2017.
Active in the M&A space, Brent has spent his career advising companies in due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, business and asset valuation, joint venture arrangements and transaction support. He has built a solid reputation as a trusted advisor supporting businesses to implement strategies and business plans in response to market conditions.
“Brent is joining our Perth team at a significant moment in time. I’m confident Brent’s exceptional leadership qualities, expertise in Energy & Resources and business risks will be invaluable to our clients, as we support them to navigate the uncertainty around COVID-19 – and beyond.” Andrew Rigele, National Managing Partner in Audit & Assurance said.
“Energy and Natural Resources is a sector I’m most passionate about, and an important industry for Western Australia. The Resources sector has a long history of periods of significant growth, followed by retraction, and COVID-19 is the most recent challenge. I’m looking forward to working with the Grant Thornton team to support the sector as we work through the current challenges and then move to create growth opportunities.” Brent Steedman, Perth Audit Leader said.
Brent will lead a team of 36 auditors, including 4 partners, to support clients in the start-up, mid-sized and ASX Top 100 sectors.
