Grant Thornton Australia has announced the addition of well-respected insolvency and restructuring partner, Philip Campbell-Wilson to its restructuring practice in Sydney, in a move that demonstrates the firm’s commitment to market leadership in the field.

Mr Campbell-Wilson has almost 20 years’ experience as a restructuring practitioner, including his most recent role leading EY’s Sydney restructuring practice.

The lead partner of Grant Thornton’s Sydney Restructuring Advisory, Said Jahani said: “Mr Campbell-Wilson would bring a significant boost to the rapidly growing capabilities of the restructuring practice.”

“It’s an exciting time for the team and we are delighted to have someone of Philip’s calibre join us,” Mr Jahani said.

“As we all continue to experience a significant disruption in the insolvency and restructuring industry, it’s important we have the right mix of talent and depth of expertise in order to meet changing client demands.

“Philip will be a great fit for the team, both culturally and through his strong and complementary skill-set.”

Mr Campbell-Wilson said he was looking forward to lending his experience to the growing Grant Thornton restructuring practice.

“I’m very excited to join a growing team that is highly regarded in the market,” Mr Campbell-Wilson said.

“The Australian restructuring industry is entering an important period of structural change that will be very challenging for those of us providing advice in this space.

“Being able to work with a leading restructuring team while also having the benefit of Grant Thornton’s full-service offering is more important than ever right now.

“Grant Thornton couldn’t be better placed to adapt and succeed in this dynamic and rapidly changing market."

Mr Campbell-Wilson’s appointment follows closely behind the appointment of John McInerney as a Director in the Sydney Restructuring Advisory team, bringing with him over 16 years’ corporate insolvency, restructuring and advisory experience.
