Alex Bell takes on National Head of Forensic Consulting role

Alex Bell, Partner in our Financial Advisory team, has recently taken on the role as National Head of Forensic Consulting.

With more than 20 years’ experience working on high profile and complex litigation and investigation assignments in Australia and the UK, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge to lead our growing forensic consulting team.

In particular, Alex has been instrumental supporting clients around issues including payroll assurance – where employees may have been underpaid – tracing alleged misappropriation of funds, fraud investigations, class actions and other commercial litigation..

“The complexities of our modern world – the technology, the systems, the regulations, the entitlements – are all designed to make our lives easier, but they are fallible and vulnerable to human error, and of course abuse. More and more clients look to us to provide that forensic insight that everything is above board,” said Alex Bell.

“It’s a fascinating sector to be in – there is no set and forget, it is a continual process of testing and review. Criminals are often one step ahead. You’re one algorithm away from a miscalculation. It takes just one oversight to make a costly mistake,” finished Alex Bell.

“Alex underpins his technical forensic skills with an impressive commercial acumen – something we know that our clients appreciate. Our forensic offering is evolving at a rapid pace to be more data led and we’re looking forward to further expand these services as we offer our clients clever solutions to complex problems,” stated Said Jahani, National Managing Partner – Financial Advisory.

Alex takes over from Joe Box, forensic partner in our Brisbane office. An expert in his field, Joe will be focussing on meeting the increased demand for both class actions and commercial litigation.

“I want to personally thank Joe for his tireless work and dedication in the role over the last 10 years in establishing a strong foundation for our forensics practice,” stated Said Jahani.
