ESG and Sustainability are broad terms dealing with how an organisation’s strategy, business model, governance structure and operations are responding to environmental and social risks and opportunities, along with the ongoing needs of key stakeholders.

The draft legislation ‘Climate Related Financial Disclosures’ released in January 2024 sets out the proposed mandatory reporting framework for entities operating in Australia and will require companies to disclose how they are responding to climate related risks & opportunities. This proposed mandatory reporting will require dedicated focus for both Group 1 reporters and also all entities within their supply chain. In our experience, these procedures require significant judgements and understanding, and we encourage organisations to begin the process in advance of any mandatory requirements.

Our ESG and Sustainability services – Sustainability Advisory, Sustainability Reporting (Climate Related Disclosure), GHG Emission Strategies and Sustainability Assurance – can assist our clients to develop a sustainability strategy, risk management processes, respond to their supply chain on specific matters relating to sustainability, climate related reporting, and independent assurance of non-financial sustainability related information.
